‘Hey, you are laughing so much with Angelika in your daily Skype sessions since you started to work on your business. You did not do this before working in your old job!’
My 9 year old son with a big smile on his face – out of the blue some days ago after I just finished a very long Skype working session with Angelika.
Boooom! That made me think (and smile) instantly.
Ok, reality check!! Melanie to Ground Control!!
Yup, indeed my situation is quite hectic and surreal at the moment.
I am wrapping up my corporate job, which I will leave in a couple of weeks. In parallel, I am in the process (and in a creative bubble) to build with Angelika our business and NU WAYS! Programs. In fact, this means: Very long hours and long days of work – facing many failures, crazy learning curves, tough decisions to take, so many considerations, high ambiguity, fast pace, many risks and total uncertainty … Oh, did I also mention (temporary) lack of sleep and work-life-balance?! …

But me being me, this situation makes me very happy, cheerful and alive!
I mean, let’s face it: I am trading in totally unforced a steady, high-paid corporate job against an uncertain soon-to-be-launched start-up business. All this in the middle of the COVID-19 situation. …

Who would have thought that!?! How come!?!
Well, because it feels good to be lost in the right direction!
What Angelika and I are currently building and driving did not come out of nowhere. It all began some time ago with a decision I took when I realized I needed to give my career a new direction. I developed a crystal clear picture of my future career state – and started my career transformation journey from there. So as long as I feel I make progress in the right direction and key conditions are met despite uncertainty and risks – I enjoy the journey to the most and I happily walk NU WAYS!
With the current COVID-19 crisis, we are all pushed out of our comfort zone anyway – uncertainty everywhere! This opens room for reflection and ideas.
So why don’t you take the opportunity now to give your career journey some NU perspectives?
Check out our programs!
All the best,
Melanie
